Neither completely rustic or country, traditional or contemporary, my natural design lamps transcend defined decorating styles. They are functional art sculptures bringing the sometimes whimsical forms and rich textures of nature indoors.

My home is perched on a small hilltop with a view of S.E. Alaska's Inside Passage. I'm nestled in the trees between a B&B, A fishing lodge and a fishing resort. While at work in my workshop making handmade wooden lamps I listen to eagles in the nest near by and occasionally I hear whales. Other times my work takes me into the temperate rain forest of the Tongass National Forest, gathering wood and botanicals from game trails, logging roads and beaches.
My handmade lamps, vases, clocks and other accessories are made from locally gathered wood. The local wood I work with is Sitka Spruce, western and mountain hemlock, western redcedar, shore pine, and red alder. I prefer branches from fallen trees, but I do occasionally cut a live twisty branch if it has that special lamp twist. I also gather and dry huckleberry twigs, blueberry twigs, ferns, grasses and leaves to place in my handmade lampshades.
I enjoy the challenge of working with wood in an unconventional way. My goal is to produce aesthetic and refined but natural, wood lamps and accessories that will create a relaxing ambiance in your home.
Enjoy,
